SYNOPSIS

Two films for SP Lager, made in Papua New Guinea, built around the moment you brace for violence and it doesn't come. A familiar domestic tension moves toward the response we've been conditioned to expect — and then the man makes a different choice. The work is about showing change through behaviour, not telling people how to behave.

NOTE

I took it because the idea was simple but carried real weight. The hard part was making the tension believable without tipping into melodrama, and making sure it landed specifically in PNG rather than just working anywhere. Working with a cultural advisor was the biggest thing. I was chasing something restrained, human and culturally specific.
